Laser Engraved Tile Art: The Process Behind the Craft
Welcome to the gallery of my laser-engraved tile art! Each piece is created with care, precision, and a deep love for the art of engraving. Let me take you behind the scenes to show you how these unique creations come to life.
Step 1: Preparing the Tile
Before the engraving process begins, every tile is carefully cleaned to ensure a flawless surface. This attention to detail is essential to achieving the best results in the final artwork.
Step 2: Adding Layers of Paint
Depending on the desired finish, I apply multiple layers of spray paint to the tile:
-
For Black-and-White Designs: The tile is coated with several layers of black spray paint, resulting in a bold and striking monochrome look.
-
For Colorful Engravings: The process involves layering vibrant colors followed by a final layer of black spray paint. When the laser engraves the design, it beautifully reveals the colorful layers underneath, creating a mesmerizing effect.
Step 3: The Laser Engraving
Using a high-precision laser engraver, the design is meticulously engraved onto the painted tile. The laser reveals the layers of color or the natural contrast in black-and-white designs, bringing the artwork to life.
Step 4: Cleaning and Sealing
After the engraving is complete, I carefully clean the surface of the tile to remove any residual paint dust. To ensure the artwork is protected and long-lasting, I seal it with two coats of transparent lacquer spray.
Customization Options
Once the artwork is finished, you have the option to enjoy it as it is or enhance its presentation by choosing a custom frame. Whether displayed on its own or framed, these tiles make a stunning addition to any space.
